Where it began
CRUMB was born from a shared obsession with craft.
Ben Richardson (Autumn Rooms) teamed up with cult-favourite pastry chef Gareth Williams (formerly Covered in Crumbs, EXP) to open a pastry café unlike anything else in Newcastle - one dedicated to hand-laminated croissant dough, small-batch seasonal fillings, and thoughtful coffee.
Opened in Lambton in March 2025, CRUMB is a space where every detail is considered, and everything is made by hand.
CRUMB is a pastry café built on layers - of dough, of skill, of community.
We handcraft croissant pastries from scratch each day in a tiny kitchen in Lambton, using traditional techniques and seasonal ingredients to make things that feel a little bit special.
It’s a place where care lives in the details - in the crackle of laminated pastry, the warmth of the coffee, the welcome at the door.
No big machines. No shortcuts. Just a small team of chefs, baristas, and friendly faces, showing up early to make something good - for the people who line up for it.
